Bio Uwe Werner

 

Uwe Werner was born in 1948. He became a language teacher and later worked as a second headmaster of a secondary school. He’s an aquarist since 1958 and has collected experiences with different families of fish. Among his publications, the „Buntbarsche Amerikas“, which he wrote together with R. Stawikowski, has to be mentioned above all.

 

Since 1981 he has gone field  collecting in Central and South America and has imported a lot of new species for the very first time from Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Guyana, Frech Guyana, Suriname, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and - above all - Mexico, but also from Ghana and Cameroon.
